Sports Medicine

Dr O'Colmain has a special interest in Sports Medicine and has a qualification from the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (Glasgow) as well as being a Fellow of the Sports and Exercise Faculty of the RCSI (Dublin).

He is on the FAI panel of doctors for the underage International teams.  He attends regular meetings of the FAI medical and scientific group and provides updates on anti-doping issues (see below)
He is team doctor to FAI Schools (FAIS) men's team U-18
He is currently the team doctor to Galway United FC and its Academy.
He has also worked with the GAA and the Galway Senior football team as doctor.  He is a member of the GAA Doctors Association.
Players with sports-related injuries can be seen by appointment.  All sports and recreational activities are included.

DRUGS AND ANTI-DOPING
Dr O'Colmain has produced Guidelines for GP's in the area of Drugs and Doping in sport. If you have any questions about this important area, whether you are competing at home or abroad, he will be happy to consult with you.  
Currently, he is the Anti-Doping officer with Irish Squash.
